BlowMusik is their translation of "Blasmusik", the German word for the kind of traditional oompah we play. Some of us are also members of the San Francisco Deutscher Musikverein, a community band founded in 1938. BlowMusik is an un-amplified, mostly instrumental band, consisting of tuba, drums, two trumpets or cornets, two clarinets, trombone, baritone, and an occasional accordion or concertina. They play polkas, waltzes, marches, and maybe a schottische or laendler once in a while.
